Ingredients
- Cake
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1½ tsp. cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. cloves
- ¼ tsp. nutmeg
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 eggs
- ½ c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 c. diced apples
- 1 c. walnuts
- Icing
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1½ c. 10X confectioner's sugar
Instructions
- Cake
- In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt and baking soda
- Add eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth
- Fold in apples and walnuts
- In two 8" round pans, bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes (or for a 9X13 pan for 1 hour)
- Icing
- In medium bowl, combine cream cheese, butter and vanilla and mix until smooth
- Add salt and slowly add confectioner's sugar until fully incorporated
- Spread on cooled cake
