Serves: 4 to 6
Ingredients
  • 1 pt. blueberries
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • ¼ c. shortening (or butter)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1½ tsp. baking powder
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ½ c. milk
Instructions
  1. Pour washed blueberries into buttered 1½ quart casserole
  2. Sprinkle with ¼ cup sugar
  3. Cream shortening (or butter), ½ cup sugar and egg together
  4. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt
  5. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternating with milk
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes
  7. Spoon into dessert cups or bowls while hot and serve with whipped cream, ice cream, or milk
